At Lumen Christi College, we are passionate about developing the whole musician. We provide engaging, challenging and practical opportunities that prepare students for the real world. Our musicians perform in professional venues, work with music technology and learn from professional musicians in interactive workshops. They also learn how to use music technology, to compose, record, produce and market their own music.
Music plays a significant role in the spiritual and cultural life of the College. Lumen Christi College provides an excellent individual music tuition program that caters for students of all abilities, from beginner to advanced. The Program is run by professional music tutors, with lessons delivered in our Performing Arts Centre music rooms.
Instruments included in our tuition program are Voice, Flute, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone , Baritone Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone/Euphonium Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar, Piano and Drum Kit.
It is an expectation that students undertaking instrumental or vocal lessons participate in ensembles at the College. These include our Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Rock Bands, Soul Band, Guitar Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, College Choir and ACA Lumen. Our musicians participate in various College events inside and outside of the College including College Music Concerts, Recital Nights, Liturgies, Whole School Masses, ANZAC and Remembrance Day ceremonies, Presentation Night and various Music Festivals including the Catholic Schools Performing Arts Festival.
