Year 10

In Year 10, all students will study the following compulsory courses:

  • English
  • Humanities and Social Science
  • Science
  • Mathematics
  • Religious Education
  • Physical Education & Health

In each of English, HASS, Science, and Mathematics, students will study in either a "general" or "accelerated" class depending on their academic performance in Year 9. These classes are designed to provide students with introductory courses for Year 11. Students in Year 10 have the opportunity to select three elective courses, many of which can be continued on at Year 11 and 12 at either ATAR, General or Certificate level.

Year 11 and 12

Lumen Christi College offers a wide range of courses, preparing students for University, Colleges of Technical and Further Education (TAFE) and the workforce.  

Students in Years 11 and 12 at Lumen Christi College will:

  • select a pathway - ATAR or General
  • undertake six courses in Year 11 and at least five courses in Year 12
  • select either English or English Literature
  • study Religion & Life as one of their courses as either an ATAR or General course
  • study Religion & Life as one of their courses as either an ATAR or General course
  • engage in 20 hours of Christian Service Learning

ATAR Pathway

  • external examinations are sat at the end of Year 12
  • a total of six courses including Religion & Life
  • a minimum of four ATAR courses are required
  • most students study five ATAR courses but can study six
  • ATAR score 50% school assessment and 50% WACE external examination-based on best four scores

Students are aiming for university entry.

General or Vocational Pathway

  • no external examinations
  • Externally Set Task (EST) in Year 12 General courses
  • a blend of General courses and Certificate courses
  • students must complete one Certificate course
  • a total of six courses, including Religion & Life
  • opportunities to complete externally run Certificate courses as part of VTAFE
  • opportunities to be involved in Workplace Learning

This pathway provides access to both TAFE and alternative entry to university.

Students also have the opportunity to take part in the College's rich extra-curricular program, with a number of after school sports on offer, as well as various Performing Arts groups and clubs. To view the extra-curricular opportunities available to our students, click the link below.
