At Lumen Christi College, our Catholic faith is the foundation of who we are and how we care for one another. Guided by the Light of Christ, faith is lived each day through relationships, learning, service and reflection.

We believe faith is not just taught - it is experienced. It shapes the culture of our community and inspires students to lead with integrity, act with compassion and recognise the human dignity of every person. Families of all backgrounds are welcomed into a community grounded in Gospel values, where young people are encouraged to explore meaning, purpose and their place in the world.

A faith lived in community

Faith at Lumen Christi College is visible in the life of the College through prayer, liturgy, service and everyday interactions. Students participate in College liturgies, Masses and significant community events throughout the year, supported by strong relationships with our local parishes and clergy.

Service learning and outreach opportunities enable students to put faith into action, raising awareness and support for those in need and learning the importance of justice, compassion and responsibility to others.

Guiding values

Our Catholic identity is reflected in our Guiding Lights - Faith, Excellence, Welcome, Example and Creativity - which provide a shared language for how we learn, lead and care. These values encourage students to grow spiritually while developing confidence, empathy and a strong moral compass.

Religious Education

Religious Education is central to learning at Lumen Christi College. Through a contemporary and engaging curriculum, students are encouraged to explore the Catholic tradition, reflect on the teachings of Jesus Christ and consider how faith shapes human life and culture.

Religious Education supports students to think deeply, ask meaningful questions and develop understanding, while respecting diverse perspectives. Senior students may choose to further explore faith and society through Religion and Life courses, offered at both ATAR and General levels in Years 11 and 12.

Emmaus Retreats – faith and reflection

The Emmaus Retreat Program provides students with meaningful opportunities to pause, reflect and reconnect with themselves, others and God.

Inspired by the Gospel story of the encounter with the Risen Jesus by two of the disciples on the road to Emmaus, retreats are tailored to each year level and support students’ spiritual and personal development as they progress through the College. Through guided reflection, shared experiences and quiet moments of prayer, students are encouraged to recognise the importance of relationships, gratitude and purpose.

The retreat journey supports students in their growth as resilient young people who are confident in their faith understanding and open to discovering how God is present in their lives.

A welcoming faith community

Lumen Christi College is a community where faith is inclusive, hopeful and life-giving. We welcome families who value a Catholic education that nurtures the whole child — academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually — and supports young people to shine as a light for others.
