Performing Arts: Music, Dance & Drama
The performing arts are a vibrant and celebrated part of College life. Students are encouraged to develop their talents through authentic, engaging and real-world experiences.
Music
Students have access to a comprehensive music program that supports performance, composition and contemporary music production. Opportunities include instrumental and vocal tuition, ensembles, concerts, liturgies, festivals and workshops with professional musicians. Students perform regularly at College and community events, building confidence and stagecraft while contributing meaningfully to the spiritual and cultural life of the College.
Dance & Drama
Students may participate in Specialist Dance, Liturgical Dance and performance ensembles, as well as College productions and showcases. Opportunities exist both on stage and behind the scenes, with students involved in acting, choreography, lighting, sound, set design and costume creation. These experiences foster collaboration, creativity and self-expression.
Visual Arts
Visual Arts students are encouraged to explore creativity and personal expression while developing strong technical skills. Students have opportunities to exhibit their work within the College and in external exhibitions at local and state levels, celebrating artistic achievement and engaging with broader creative communities.
Catholic Identity
Faith is at the heart of life at Lumen Christi College. Students are invited to actively engage in the spiritual life of the College through opportunities that nurture faith, belonging and reflection.
Students regularly participate in Mass, liturgies and faith celebrations, with opportunities to become involved in initiatives such as the College praise group. These experiences support students in deepening their faith, building community and living out the values of the Gospel.
Academic Support & Enrichment
At Lumen Christi College, learning extends beyond the classroom. Students have access to additional academic support opportunities designed to build confidence, encourage good study habits and help students achieve their personal best.
Opportunities such as study clubs and additional learning support provide students with a structured environment to consolidate understanding, seek assistance and work collaboratively with peers and staff
Service & Social Justice
Service to others is an important part of the Lumen Christi experience. Students are encouraged to contribute meaningfully to their community and develop compassion, empathy and a commitment to social justice.
Through opportunities such as involvement with the St Vincent de Paul Society community kitchen and College service initiatives, students learn the importance of supporting others and making a positive difference in the lives of those around them.
Sport & Physical Activity
Sport plays an important role in promoting wellbeing, teamwork and resilience. Students participate in a wide range of sports through the Physical Education curriculum, interhouse carnivals and representative competitions, including ACC Swimming, Cross Country and Athletics. Opportunities are also available through after school and co-curricular sporting programs, allowing students of all abilities to be involved and stay active.
Student Leadership
Leadership at Lumen Christi College is grounded in service, responsibility and example. Students are encouraged to see themselves as active contributors to the life of the College and their community.
Through a range of leadership opportunities, students develop confidence, initiative and a sense of responsibility while working alongside peers and staff to enhance student voice, community spirit and College culture. Leadership pathways support students to grow as compassionate, future-focused young people who embody the values of the College.
