Week Two, Term Four 2024
From the Principal
Welcome to the Lumen Bulletin for Week Two, Term Four. It was lovely to see staff and students returning from the holiday break refreshed and relaxed.
The last fortnight has seen many of our Year 12 students sitting their Semester Two exams. The results from these exams play an important role in determining their final ATAR score. With ATAR examinations approaching, we are keeping all students in our thoughts and prayers as they continue their preparations.
After a lengthy and thorough selection process, the Student Leaders for 2025 have been selected. Congratulations to all students who nominated for these roles, and especially to those who were successful. I look forward to collaborating with our 2025 Student Leaders in the coming year. A complete list of the leaders can be found in this bulletin.
I am looking forward to celebrating the Graduating Class of 2024 later this evening. We are eager to honour the accomplishments of our Year 12 students and give them a memorable Lumen farewell.
This week we received wonderful news that 2024 College Captain, Jacob Eddington achieved ACC Letters. The ACC Lettermen Club is an honorary title awarded to students who have earned and received their ACC All Star Letters. Jacob achieved his letters by being awarded All Stars Athletics for four years. Jacob was also Champion Boy of the ACC Athletics carnival six years running. We extend our congratulations to Jacob for this remarkable achievement.
Next Saturday, 26 October we will be celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Lumen Christi College. Much hard work and planning has gone into organising this wonderful event. I look forward to seeing many of you at the College for the celebrations.
God bless.

It is with great pleasure that I announce the College Captains for 2025.
We are fortunate to have received applications from such a high calibre of students, and those who were shortlisted truly stood out. Each candidate we interviewed presented themselves exceptionally well, showcasing their maturity, leadership abilities, and involvement across various areas of the College, despite the challenges of a nerve-wracking interview process. It was a privilege for the interview panel to engage with these students, making the decision particularly tough. It was evident that any of them could have excelled as College Captain.
However, after much deliberation by the panel, we are confident that Tanya Marufu and Ann Padua will lead the student body in 2025 and represent the College with integrity, enthusiasm and a commitment to excel in all that they do. Tanya and Ann will be supported by Vice Captains Maria Cole and Brenden Escoto.
Congratulations Tanya, Ann, Maria and Brenden and thank you to all Year 11 students who submitted an application.
The process for the appointment of 2025 Year 12 House Captains, Portfolio Captains and Year 11 Prefects has now concluded. We are fortunate to have many passionate and enthusiastic students stepping forward for these positions. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the successful applicants, and I look forward to collaborating with them next year.
Many capable students applied for leadership positions but, unfortunately, were not selected. I want to thank these students for their bravery in navigating this challenging process.
