Leadership Opportunities Lumen Christi College has a mission to foster in its students social, physical, emotional and spiritual growth, alongside academic excellence. The extensive array of co-curricular activities available to the student body is a testament to the commitment given by College staff to ensure this happens. The Student Leadership Team provides significant opportunities for young people to develop their leadership skills and be of service to the College. Students from Years 8 to 12 re eligible to apply for a position on the Student Leadership Team. Student Leadership Team Established in 1997, the SLT has become an integral part of Lumen Christi College life and culture. Students appointed to the SLT, work in in cooperation with staff support members to find positive ways of enhancing leadership, initiative and responsibility among the total student body. This process takes places annually. Regular meetings, usually after school on Mondays, take place throughout the year. Here leadership activities take place alongside the discussion and planning required to execute and debrief activities. The SLT camp and training days held towards the end of the year provide a wonderful learning and social occasion for Students Leaders. Each member of the SLT belongs to one of the five sub-committees. In addition individuals may choose to be part of the Assembly Committee or support the work of the College Liturgy Team. Through the work of these committees students learn new skills as well as being able to develop existing ones.
