Position: Teacher of Mathematics

To Commence: January 2010. Full-time ongoing.

Key Responsibilities:

The teaching of Mathematics across the school age range working in co-operation with others to promote interest in this academic discipline. Applicants must be able to provide extension work for students who can achieve beyond the expected class level.

Requirements:

An enthusiastic teacher with a passion for Mathematics who will engage our students in their studies and support their learning through creative teaching methods.  A sound understanding of current Curriculum Framework requirements, a commitment to team work and the ability to work collaboratively with others are essential.  The successful applicant must be able to interact and communicate effectively with colleagues, parents and students.

The ability to teach RE is an advantage, though not a requirement. Applicants are encouraged to acknowledge additional subjects they are qualified to teach.

Position: Teacher of Physical Education with Dance

To Commence: January 2010. Part-Time (0.5), Temporary for 2010.

Key Responsibilities:

To assist with the teaching of Physical Education, delivering the extensive range of activities offered to students through the general and specialist Physical Education programmes, support the College Dance programme and provide ongoing educational and pastoral support to students.

Requirements:

An experienced teacher of Physical Education with the ability to offer Dance. The College offers Dance as both a curriculum and specialist co-curricular subject.  A sound understanding of current Curriculum Framework requirements, and the ability to use creative teaching methods to promote these two areas of the curriculum is required.  The successful applicant must be able to interact and communicate effectively with colleagues, parents and students and be committed to collaborative working practices.

Position: Teacher of Home Economics, able to teach Children, Family & Community

To Commence: January 2010. Part-Time (0.5), Temporary for 2010.

Key Responsibilities:

To assist in delivering aspects of the Home Economics Curriculum across the school age range, in particular the Children, Family and Community programme and provide ongoing educational and pastoral support to students.

Requirements:

A dedicated Home Economics teach with a breadth of experience across the range of disciplines, and a particular interest in the Children, Family & Community courses.  A sound understanding of current Curriculum Framework requirements, a commitment to team work and the ability to work collaboratively with others are essential.  The successful applicant must be able to interact and communicate effectively with colleagues, parents and students.

Position: Teacher of English and Religious Education

To Commence: January 2010. Full-Time, Temporary for 2010.

Key Responsibilities:

To assist with the teaching of English & Religious Education across the age range and provide ongoing educational and pastoral support to students. Applicants must be able to provide extension work for students achieving beyond the expected class level.

Requirements:

A competent, committed and enthusiastic teacher keen to develop their teaching career across the two disciplines. Use of innovation, creativity and imagination in the classroom, and a sound understanding of current Curriculum Framework requirements. Applicants must be committed to team work, the pursuit of excellence and the positive promotion of Catholic faith and tradition.
The successful applicant must be able to interact and communicate effectively with colleagues, parents and children. Position: Teacher Assistant

To Commence: January 2010. Full-Time, Temporary for 2010.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting teaching staff in providing a range of educational opportunities to stimulate individuals with learning needs and so enhance their education.  Working one to one and with small groups to assist individuals in the completion of educational tasks as part of their curriculum requirements. The provision of ongoing educational and pastoral support to students beyond the classroom.

Requirements:

Applicants must have experience of working with secondary age children and ideally possess a Cert 4 in Special Needs. Applicants with a Cert 3, or other relevant qualifications, skills or experience are also encouraged to apply. The ability to support colleagues and work harmoniously as part of a team is essential.

Position: Home Economics Assistant

To Commence: January 18th 2010. Part-Time (0.5), Temporary for 2010.

Key Responsibilities:

To co-ordinate the efficient running of the non educational tasks which support teaching and learning in the Technology & Enterprise learning area, primarily within Home Economics.

Requirements:

Competence in the use and maintenance of a range of T&E technologies, basic computer literacy and the ability to deal with ordering, deliveries and stocktaking.  A commitment to team work and to ongoing personal and professional development is required.  An understanding of the work of other learning areas under the T&E banner is desirable.

Applicants must fully support the Catholic ethos and College Objectives and be willing to take an active role in the life of the College, including some after hours activities.
